Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been practicing therapy?

I’ve been working in the mental health field since 2009, where I got the bulk of my experience helping run various residential treatment programs specializing in addiction and other co-occuring disorders. This was a profoundly impactful part of my journey and one that inspired me to pursue work as a full time therapist. After owning and eventually selling my own women’s sober living, I committed myself fully to practicing as a therapist in 2017. I consider it a tremendous privilege to do this work!

How do I know if we’re a good fit?

Figuring out if a therapist is a good fit is so tough! I find that most clients can feel especially overwhelmed or discouraged as they attempt to navigate this decision. I strongly encourage all prospective clients to schedule a free consultation with me to get a better sense of our potential work together. As we begin our sessions, I continually check in with my clients to assess how the process and fit is feeling for them.

Can you take my insurance?

Unfortunately, as an out of network provider, I’m unable to bill your insurance company directly. However, I do provide all clients with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance directly for reimbursement.

How long does therapy last?

The duration of therapy depends largely on the individual or couple and their unique therapeutic goals. I have extensive experience providing both short term, solution-focused and long-term therapies. At the beginning of our work together, we complete an in depth assessment where we can identify a more specific therapeutic timeline.

How often do I need to come?

I encourage most clients to consider attending therapy weekly or every other week. With that said, my goal is to support each of my client’s unique needs. If you have a specific idea of how often you would like to attend therapy that differs from this recommendation, we can discuss your options!
